Ingredients:

  • 500g fish fillet or prawns
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 250g tinned button mushrooms
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 Tbs butter
  • 1⁄2 tsp Tabasco
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 1 Tbs butter

Method:

  1. Wash and cut fish into 2cm pieces.
  2. Dice onion and pepper. Slice mushrooms.
  3. Heat butter in a pan and sauté' the diced onion lightly. Add pepper and mushroom.
  4. Sauté' for another 2 minutes then add the fish, Tabasco, salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes. Leave aside.

Sauce:

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 Tbs flour
  • 1 Tbs butter
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Put the cold milk and flour in a saucepan. Mix well and let it boil.
  2. Add a Tbs of butter and salt.
  3. Let it cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Put the fish mixture in individual ramekin dishes or shell cases.
  5. Pour the white sauce over and sprinkle grated cheese and chopped parsley.
  6. Grill until slightly browned.
